Bullet Journal: January 2026

My version of an hourglass sorta looks like 2 colliding black holes.

Recently looked up bullet journaling, because a character I created for the short story listed below uses one. And because my last week of January was used up composing said short story, I’m posting a pseudo-bullet-journal entry here.

  • Read The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Asked Google how many times the word “gray” was used in the novel. Google’s AI-assisted answer: a lot.
  • Entered the NYC Midnight short story challenge. My assigned genre was political satire.
  • Learned the language spoken in Greenland is Kalaallisut.
  • Clocked 11 hours on my manuscript in January, first time I’ve reached that milestone in many years.
  • I’ve only recently started keeping track, for accountability, so I can’t actually pinpoint the last time I’ve dedicated that much time to writing.
  • Tim and I celebrated 20 years of marriage this month.
  • Also celebrated a 3-year streak on my version of Morning Pages this month.

Writing-wise, I’m feeling pretty good with how this year has begun. See you later!
